In a game which had little going for it, apart from the closeness, Curtis was quizzed if the Panthers are off the pace.
“I’d agree with that, (but) we just needed to win,” he said.
“We put it on the blokes, we had a fair bit of quality out but, as a proud club, we had to win that game.”
The visitors carried a 10-point lead into the final term, but it looked like Wodonga was within a goal after seemingly snaring one, however it was called back for a Panthers’ free kick.
Nick Meredith took a number of intercept marks in defence, veteran Adam Butler’s resurgence continues, while defender Chris Annett also played well.
McKye Turner was again strong for the ‘Dogs, while Nick Beattie maintained his goalkicking form with three.
