A first half blitz saw the Border side take a 5-0 lead into the break, before regrouping to finish strongly.
Jeremy Maggs and Larry Simpson netted doubles, while Sam Quick, Charley Wallace and Andrew Monte also fired in goals.
“The second half of the season is a new beginning for us and we’ve been working on changing the culture of how we approach games,” Spitfires’ co-coach Jeremy Payne said.
“A little bit more intent and ruthlessness goes a long way, starting that from the first whistle always helps.
“We spent a fair bit of time this week with goal shooting and being accountable for our shots.
“We’ve been really trying to enforce that and it’s obviously shown because there wasn’t many opportunities that went astray.”
