The 13-year-old Albury girl wants to live in New York and storm the catwalk as a model for the world’s leading fashion designers.
That dream is a step closer to becoming a reality after she was signed by Australia's longest running child talent and modelling agency, Bubblegum Casting.
Penny applied for the agency without telling her parents.
It’s fair to say the Year 8 student at Trinity Anglican College Thurgoona is a dedicated follower of fashion, loves shopping and is also pretty handy over a high jump with her leggy frame.
But Penny is fiercely determined to follow the modelling path, according to her mum.
“It seems all that practising in the mirror has paid off,” Mrs McEachern smiled.
“We always say to her that she is beautiful on the outside but you have to be beautiful on the inside too.
“However we will support her in whatever she wants to do.”
Bubblegum managing director Adam Jacobs said it was fantastic to be able to sign talent from a regional area and Penny seemed a natural in front of the camera.
“She’s got a unique look – a strong aesthetic,” Mr Jacobs said.
“When we are casting for models and actors we have to ask ourselves, ‘Do we have clients who would like this look?’”
Being able to work with parents is is also an important consideration at Bubblegum, Mr Jacobs added.
Penny is eagerly awaiting her first photo shoot on July 14 and says she has the support of her friends who think it’s “exciting”.
Meanwhile salon owner Kate Young is already putting her talents – and lovely long locks – to good use for The Last Tangle Hair Company in Albury.
