The now 18-year-old hit the national music industry headlines in 2016 when he was the first winner of X Factor Australia.
Then he carried Australia’s music hopes in the famous Eurovision Song Contest.
Firebrace finished in the top 10 and was viewed by more than 250 million people during the 2017 event hosted in Kiev, Russia.
Just last month he was ringside in Las Vegas to sing the Australian National Anthem during the world title fight between Jeff Horn and American Terence Crawford. He also sung when Horn won his title against Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane last year.
It is a long way from his hometown of Moama on the Murray River in the southern Riverina. Firebrace made his singing debut as a three-year-old in his Moama community church.
“There's a lot of things that I never thought would happen, it's crazy to think about it,” he said in a Fairfax Media interview earlier this year.
Along with performing for an audience of millions at Eurovision, Firebrace has released platinum-certified singles, performed with Jessica Mauboy on her Australian tour and, for a second year in a row, was part of the star-studded G’Day LA event in Hollywood.
Among the audience impressed by his performance of Advance Australia Fair were industry heavyweights including Vance Joy, Paul Hogan, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and John Travolta.
“Those moments are surreal for me,” Firebrace says.
“I’m just this guy from Moama.”

Firebrace is on the road to perform at selected regional venues as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations.
He will bring his smooth, soulful voice – and four-piece band – to Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, July 14.
With his debut album Iasiah and single It’s Gotta Be You receiving international airplay, the two hour concert with a rocking live band will feature all his hit songs, originals and his Eurovision entry.
“It will include now singles and the Eurovision song, Don’t Come Easy, and also some of the songs from X Factor and also some of my favourite songs,” he told Fairfax Media earlier this year.
“I always love going to regional towns because usually not many people go out to those towns and have shows.”
