Life can be so hectic these days that we don’t often get a chance to sit back and reflect but the Ovens and Murray’s Hall of Fame earlier this week provided the opportunity to do just that.

It was wonderful to listen to the stories of champions from different eras and the positive impact that sport played in their lives.
To hear legendary Albury figure Paul Spargo speak with such passion about Haydn Bunton senior and the feats he achieved on the field was amazing.
As a three-time Brownlow Medal winner and with his own statue outside the MCG, Bunton is one of the greats of Australian Rules yet his career in Albury, where he played seniors as a 13-year-old, was to a large extent unknown.
Clancy, himself a member of the elite group, was a larger than life character and his impact at the Albury, Corowa and Chiltern clubs will never be forgotten. RIP, Jack.
Whatever you’re up to for the rest of the weekend, I hope it’s a ripper.
Cheers, Xavier.
