Lamb numbers slipped a little and quality was very good across the trade and heavy weight grades which were well finished.
There were mainly trade and heavy weights penned along with a limited supply of plainer lambs throughout and the odd pen of store lambs were offered.
All the buyers were operating and competition was solid resulting in a firm to dearer market. Light lambs to processors averaged from $120 to $135/head. Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were firm and averaged from 700c to 710c/kg cwt. Most of the heavy trade weight lambs sold from $165 to $180/head. Heavy weight lambs were slightly dearer, while extra heavy weights were up to $10/head stronger and averaged from 705c to 720c/kg cwt. A run of extra heavy weight lambs sold from $202, to a top of $255/head.
Mutton numbers fell slightly and quality was mixed throughout. Medium weight Merino ewes averaged $131, or 525c/kg cwt, while heavy weight 4 scores averaged $162/head. Heavy first cross ewes averaged $167 and topped at $190/head, or 505c/kg cwt.

Numbers were lower as supplies of older lambs continue to decline. Quality across heavy lamb categories was outstanding however lambs weighing above 30kg were in limited numbers.
Trade lambs were in reasonable supply, although there were many 2 score trade lambs in the offering. Light lambs sold to stronger demand from processors.
There was very little restocker activity and a single pen of 340 second cross lambs sold to a feedlot at $123.20/head.
The trade market sold to steady competition, however, as the sale progressed demand strengthened and prices were pushed $6 to $15/head higher.
