Farmer Roger Reynoldson had attracted 66.51 per cent of the votes at the close of counting on Saturday night.
His rival nurse Ruth Sylvester drew 30.27 per cent, with the remainder informal votes.
Mr Reynoldson convincingly won the four booths at Barooga, Berrigan, Finley and Tocumwal.
In his home area of Berrigan the margin was 549 to 40, while Mrs Silvester did best in her town, Tocumwal, with 200 ballots to 276.
The final result is due to be declared on Wednesday.
