Victoria’s peak freight and logistics body, Victorian Transport Association, has already completed forums in Portland and Geelong, with the hope the forums will provide operators with important information to run safer and more productive businesses.
Chief executive Peter Anderson said the free forums were a chance for operators, workers and residents to express concerns or network.
He said the event hosted at Wodonga TAFE’s Logic Campus was being held in conjunction with WorkSafe Victoria, VicRoads and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
“The freight industry is very conscious that it has a role to play in improving and maintaining community amenity which is why we are keen to hear the concerns of residents and educate them on the challenges,” he said.
