Councils including Wangaratta, Indigo, Benalla and Mansfield will share $400,000 to support startups through seminars, workshops, mentoring and leadership programs.
Benalla mayor Don First said it was important new businesses had access to support.
“We absolutely want to encourage and nurture start-up activity and encourage maximum participation within the start-up sector,” he said.
