Northern Victoria MP Jaclyn Symes said the hospital’s annual funding would be increased by 11.9 per cent, or $26.94 million, to a total of $253.4 million.
Albury Wodonga Health’s budget includes funding to commence a new cardiac service, following the completion of the new cardiac laboratory.
“We’re delivering record funding to ensure that our other hospitals can treat more patients faster and closer to home in Wodonga,” Ms Symes said.
“Our doctors, nurses, allied and other healthcare workers dedicate themselves each day to care for us when we need it.
“We’re helping them by opening more beds to reduce patient waiting times for surgery and emergency care.”
