The comedian is visiting Albury on Friday, August 3, as part of the Albion Hotel’s monthly Comedy Lockdown night, supported by Chris Wainhouse.
The mum-of-two was catapulted into the professional performing world in 2014 after being named runner up at the RAW Comedy National Final – Australia’s biggest comic talent quest.
“I got into comedy to get away from them a little bit,” Burch revealed in a recent Fairfax Media interview.
“It was hard, I think it’s gotten easier because they’re a little bit older now and they get it, they get it I’m not disappearing because I hate them, anymore.”
Her dead-pan anecdotes about life and family has hit home with many resulting in constant bookings ever since.
After taking time off to have children Burch knew she didn’t want to go back to her previous life of working as a restaurant manager and in remedial massage.
She’d always prided herself on witty comments and comeback, mandatory for her to survive high school.
“I was in this group, it was a bunch of bitches, I was a bitch too,” Burch says.
“Everyday somebody would get kicked out of the group.
“I used to walk around the playground telling … jokes and everything, and that’s how I kept my friends.”
