TRIPLE MILESTONE
Barnawartha celebrated three milestones on the same day against Wodonga Saints last weekend. Josh Star brought up his 50th senior game, Brad Dalbosco ran out for his 150th club game, while James Wells played for the 100th time in the yellow and black.
KEY MESSAGE
AFL North East Border leagues are joining with all 10 Victorian AFL clubs and community clubs across the state to celebrate the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundations Love the Game round this weekend. Tallangatta league clubs with home games, Chiltern and Wodonga Saints, will promote the message with the aim of this round to remind fans and players alike that sport and betting do not have to go together despite the significant amount of advertising now taken as a normal part of the sporting landscape.
FAMILY CONNECTION
The Lappin name continues to live on through the Chiltern Football Club. Finn Lappin, the son of former Swans star Nathan and nephew of Nigel, made his senior debut for the club at just 15 years of age last weekend. Lappin featured in the best players in the narrrow 10-point loss against Dederang-Mount Beauty. He’s one of three thirds players to be given a taste of senior football at Chiltern so far in 2018.
