Acting Sergeant Braithe Gibson said police and paramedics were on scene a kilometre south of the Murray Valley Highway on-ramp, assessing occupants, but things could have been a lot worse without the barriers.
“At this stage of the investigation it appears the occupants lost control of the vehicle for unknown circumstances,” he said.
“The most important thing to know is that the vehicle and caravan collided with the cable barriers and they’ve worked significantly.
“They’ve stopped the vehicle veering off the road and into the ditch and they’ve minimsed injuries.”
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said a woman was being transferred to Albury Base Hospital with minor injuries, in a stable condition.
The incident is impacting southbound traffic.
