Teenager Noah Spiteri will travel to North Albury on Saturday before backing up to play first grade with Albury-Wodonga Football Association outfit, Boomers FC, on Sunday.
It’s extremely rare for a player to play at the top level for the respective sports in this region.
Kyle Maynard gave up soccer for a stint with Wodonga Raiders from 2012.
Spiteri played soccer in primary school and then took up football until under 14s, where he returned to his first passion.
“I know (Wodonga coach Zac Fulford) ‘Fully’ and all my school mates played footy at Wodonga and they were low for numbers in the 2’s, so I wasn’t doing anything on Saturdays,” he said.
A midfielder in football and forward in soccer, Spiteri is uncertain which sport suits him best.
“I’m not sure which one I’m better at, I’m just grateful that I’ve got two really supportive clubs,” he said.
