THE Murray Bushrangers recovered from a poor start to defeat Eastern Ranges by 26 points at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve on Sunday.

After conceding four of the opening five goals of the match, the Bushrangers slowly worked their way back into the contest before hitting the lead at the seven-minute-mark of the third quarter.
Mark Marriott. Jacob Koschitzke and Nick Murray were strong in the air while Lachie Ash had a major impact after being moved from half-forward to half-back at quarter-time.
Cameron Wilson also proved pivotal as the Bushrangers kicked six goals to one after half-time.
“I thought we were pretty good after half-time,” coach Leon Higgins said.
“Our pressure picked up and we forced them into bombing the ball a lot more.”
Zane Barzen was the most effective forward on the ground with three goals.
The Bushrangers do battle with Western Jets at Wangaratta on Saturday.
