MURRAY Bushrangers will be chasing a four-quarter performance against Western Jets at Wangaratta’s Norm Minns Oval on Saturday.
The Bushrangers put themselves under pressure with a slow start last weekend and coach Leon Higgins is keen to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Higgins rates the Jets as a serious contender.
“They have a strong midfield, a couple of good ruckmen and some talented forwards,” Higgins said.
“They are a dangerous side.”
Matt Walker returns to the Bushrangers from NEAFL duties and will look to finish the season strongly to enhance his draft prospects.
Justin Koschitzke, Lachie Ash and Nick Murray impressed in defence against Eastern Ranges while Dylan Clarke’s return will take some pressure off Ely Smith.
Big Mark Marriott shapes as a key against the Jets’ strong ruck division.
Wangaratta’s Trent Matthes is the 23rd player.
Saturday’s match starts at 1pm.
The team is:
B, Boyer, Fiore, Boyd; hb, Ash, Koschitzke, Murray; c, Bice, Smith, Fraunfelder; hf, Butts, Garoni, Warner; f, Chalcraft, Barzen, Walker; foll, Bollinghaus, Clarke, Clarke; inter, Chandler, Marriott, Paradzayi, Wilson, Matthes; emerg, Christie, Holt, Amery.
