Agents CRE Brokers have confirmed the pub’s freehold has been sold to Leigh Esler, who has worked at Cafe Grove in Wodonga and Commodore Motel in Albury.
Mr Esler has to date declined to publicly discuss his plans for the hotel which has been owned by Wagga businessman Greg Evans since the mid-2000s.
One of Wodonga’s oldest pubs had been under offer for almost three months with the freehold at one point advertised for $1.4 million.
According to the Carrier Arms Facebook page, the pub’s stone grill dining offering has ended with the former owner.
They had to endure major disruption to trade with upgrades to Church Street as part of the wider central Wodonga makeover being carried out by council.
