That has resulted in a warrant being issued for Tyson John Crichton-Crawford’s arrest.
The 28-year-old failed to front Albury Local Court this week to be sentenced on two counts of stalk or intimidate and behave in an offensive manner, as well as the revocation of a community service order.
As a result, magistrate Rodney Brender convicted Crichton-Crawford on those matters.
He had already pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of possessing cannabis.
“The accused,” police told the court, “clearly has no regard for enforceable conditions imposed by police and the courts and many of his offences are violent in nature.”
A warrant was previously issued for Crichton-Crawford’s arrest when he failed to appear in court on April 30.
On June 11, about 4.30pm, Wodonga police were interested in a car heading north on the Hume Freeway, but it failed to stop.
Albury police then saw the car take the Racecourse Road exit. Soon after they saw it parked in Tulla Street, North Albury.
Crichton-Crawford was standing next to the car.
While speaking to him, police checks revealed the arrest warrant. He was arrested and searched, uncovering a bag containing 7.5 grams of cannabis.
The stalking charges relate to an incident on February 22.
The victims, two women, both aged 25 – one was his on-again, off-again partner – were in a car at the intersection of David and Guinea streets about 9.20am, waiting for the traffic lights to turn green.
Crichton-Crawford pulled up beside them in his car, got out and attempted to open a door, but the driver activated the central locking.
“The victims observed his eyes popping out, his body language was stiff and he was pointing his fingers.”
Crichton-Crawford then yelled at his partner: “You’re a copper rat, you’re a copper informant. Dogs get what they deserve.”
He walked to the front of the car to block their path. Crichton-Crawford lifted a windscreen wiper, then walked to the side where he partner was sitting “and pulled his penis out the top of his board shorts and rubbed his penis against the passenger window”.
He did the same act with his exposed buttocks, then after they drove away he tailed their car along Borella Road, East Albury.
