The project is jointly funded by Goulburn Murray Water, Moira Council, RMS and the Victoria Fisheries Authority and will prevent wake boats displacing rocks at the edge of the concrete apron.
Northern Victoria MLC Jaclyn Symes visited the site on Wednesday.
“Lake Mulwala is considered one of the most productive Murray Cod fisheries in Australia, and the Andrews Labor government is supporting this project to give fishers better facilities and attract even more fishing tourism to North East Victoria,” she said.
“The new and upgraded boat ramps at Bundalong will improve this great fishing spot and boost local and visiting angler numbers.
“Improving fishing opportunities and facilities is a key component of the Target One Million plan, which continues to grow recreational fishing across country Victoria, giving families better opportunities to spend some quality time together outdoors.”
Renovations will also be undertaken at two smaller boat ramps at Pasley Street and Pyke Street in Bundalong, where the Ovens and Murray rivers meet.
