The undefeated Panthers restricted the Hoppers to only six goals in the third term to set up the 48-42 away victory.

“’Sez’ is an absolute champion of the club, obviously she’s a brilliant person off the court but, on the court, she’s a real leader, she’s a smart netballer, she creates play, she brings others into it, it’s really exciting to see her reach 300,” coach Tamara Mathews said.

“To play as well as she did and have a win, it’s really special and it’s great that everyone’s here to celebrate it.”

The teams formed a guard of honour pre-game as Senini received a presentation.

“Everybody’s made it an extremely special day for me, I’ve had a fun day and obviously we’re all heading back to the tavern tonight (Saturday) to celebrate our win, but also the last 300 games,” she said.

“I’ve got some past players who are coming along, so it’s nice that the club have organised something like that.

“It’s a privilege to play for Lavington, I love donning the dress every week.”

Lavington led by only two at half-time, but then doubled the Hoppers’ output in the third to open a match-winning eight-goal break.

Star defender Kate Yensch took a series of intercepts in the final term, but the Hoppers were able to reduce the margin to four with less than five minutes left.

But the home team couldn’t cut it further, with Sarah Meredith and Rhiannon Dolahenty also producing intercepts.

It was fitting Senini was one of the stars, along with Meredith, in compiling 32 goals.

“We probably haven’t been playing consistently, today (Saturday) was really about riding out the four quarters,” Mathews said.

“I was really pleased that we had the depth to make changes we needed to.”

North’s Hollie Kinning was playing her 250^th club game as Grace Senior (39 goals) proved hard to stop.

Molly Goldsworthy was the Hoppers’ best.

Yarrawonga joined third-placed North on 40 points with a 40-35 away win over Myrtleford.

Indiana Frauenfelder (19) led the scoring, while Eliza York (16) played well.

Eden Broz shot 18 goals, while Grace McKerral was terrific.

And Wodonga Raiders beat Wangaratta Rovers, 48-32.

Georgia Thomas (27) was strong, while Alissa Donaldson was the visitors’ best.

Caitlyn Cose fired 17 goals, while Ainslee Dowling was outstanding.
