The Nutty Food Co will offer three different styles of cheese at its launch in South Albury on Friday.
Founded by Antony and Tamika Brown, The Nutty Food Co was already offering raw treats at Almar Organics before it ventured into cheeses.
Mr Brown said the business had come out of his own health journey, which started about three years ago.
“I was suffering health issues that were getting progressively worse and I had to do something about it,” he said.
“I found a new way of eating, without dairy, sugar and gluten.
“I had to come up with alternatives for treats and I began playing around with raw treats and making my own cheeses.”
Having grown up in Albury and Wagga respectively, Mr and Mrs Brown returned to Albury about six months ago.
Mr Brown said the vegan-friendly cheeses would appeal to a range of people.
“They will suit anyone interested in cheese who can’t have traditional dairy; they’re made from healthy fats derived from nuts,” Mr Brown said.
“There will be a macadamia feta, cultured cashew cheese and garlic and herb cashew cheese.”
Mr Brown said they had never planned to start a food business.
“Then we found other people really liked our raw treats and cheeses; Albury has a very health-focused community,” he said.
Friday’s launch will run from 5.30pm to 7pm at Almar Organics, South Albury.
