The Albury Tiger hasn’t played since June 23, a seven-week spell.
The 35-year-old came back from a 45-day break against Lavington in early June and was second best, racking up a stack of disposals, in the 50-point win.
The rehab coordinator with AFL outfit Melbourne, Cross is free to play as the Demons face the Sydney Swans on Sunday.
Meanwhile, another proud Albury name will also return against the Bulldogs.
Emerging ruckman Ben Kelly will play just his second game after booting two goals against Wangaratta in the grand final re-match on June 30.
The fathers of both Cross and Kelly – Peter and Brian respectively – were outstanding players.
Much of the interest will feature on the debut of another son of a gun in Wodonga’s Elijah Hollands, whose father, Ben, won a flag.
