James Peter Bowen is facing one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault.
He entered not guilty pleas to the five charges in the Wodonga Magistrates Court this week following a two-day committal hearing.
Magistrate Stella Stuthridge asked the defendant – who trades under the name Peter Bowen – how he wanted to plead.
“Not guilty your honour,” he replied.
The court heard one alleged victim gave a lengthy statement to police for six or seven hours.
Bowen was arrested on May 2 last year at his Stanley Street property and questioned. The first allegation dates to October 2014.
The court heard he had been released and charged on summons on December 22 last year.
The matter will be mentioned in the County Court at Melbourne on September 4.
