Lamb numbers fell slightly and quality was generally good across all grades with some plainer lines throughout. The new season lambs increased in supply and were well presented. The old grades mainly consisted of trade weights and a few heavy and extra heavy weights, while store new seasons were well supplied. All the buyers were operating and competition was a little softer resulting in a slight easing of the market. New season trade weight lambs held firm and sold from $172 to $202, averaging 800c, while the heavy weights sold from $213 to $230/head, or 830c/kg cwt. Old trade weight lambs were around $8/head cheaper and averaged from 790c to 820c/kg cwt. Most of the heavy trade weight lambs sold from $176 to $198/head. Heavy weight lambs were $5 to $6/head easier and averaged from 760c to 800c/kg cwt.
A few pens of heavy and extra heavy weight lambs sold from $205 to $240/head. Mutton numbers stayed steady and quality was varied throughout.
Medium Merino ewes were firm and averaged $115/head or 460c/kg cwt. Heavy first cross ewes were slightly cheaper and averaged from $122 to $137/head or 400c to 450c/kg cwt.

Numbers declined and quality across the heavy categories was good. There were 5000 new season lambs offered and the trade weights were well presented while the older trade lamb grades tended to be varied in finish. There were mainly trade and heavy weights penned and the store new seasons were well supplied. All the usual buyers were present and operating and competition was very strong on the well finished lines. Light new season lambs to the processors averaged $154, up $12 while store lambs averaged from $59 to $122/head. Medium and heavy trade weight new season lambs were $10/head dearer and more in places and averaged from 840c to 880c/kg cwt.
