Jarred Lee Simpson pleaded guilty to two charges in the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Thursday.
It followed a break-in at Kelly’s Mitre 10 on Elgin Boulevard on November 30.
Simpson had matters listed in the court earlier that month but failed to attended, and was found about 10 days after the public appeal.
He pleaded guilty to burglary and the attempted theft of the gun safe containing five firearms.
The matter will return to the Wodonga County Court in late October.
