Andrina Dixen received a $15,000 annual scholarship to study at the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, which was announced at last month’s World Championships of Performing Arts in California.
“I was over the moon, really, I couldn’t stop buzzing for three days, I was so excited,” Dixen said.
She plans to move overseas next year and begin her two-year associate degree of film and television in September 2019.
Dixen said the championships, called the performers’ Olympics, were “an unforgettable experience”.
“I made so many new friends,” she said.
“We all share the same passion for what we do.”
