A 100 per cent faithful elephant, a well-dressed feline and gaudy birds are just some of the Dr Seuss characters appearing this week. Trinity Anglican College will present its middle years production Seussical Jr at Albury Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. The Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who must protect the tiny Whos and also guard an egg left in his care. Chosen for its fun, colour and multiple lead roles, Seussical involves about 80 students from years 5 to 9. Director Emma Mancer said this first middle years show acknowledged the talent of younger performers. “We wanted to create something they could be involved in and give them more confidence to try for (next year’s) senior musical,” she said.
