After a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Southern Junior League grand final, the side bounced back with an undefeated display at Sydney’s Sutherland Basketball Stadium to finish the season on a high.
Albury defeated Blacktown West Storm 59-43 in the final after victories in the pool phase against St George Saints (56-17), North Bears Black (50-36) and Maitland Mustangs (61-4).
Coach Rebecca Hall was extremely proud of the way they played.
“They played brilliantly for all four games, it was a real team effort,” she said.
“It’s a bit of redemption from losing in overtime.”
Cooper Hall was crowned the tournament’s most valuable player.
Albury’s under 18 boys also competed at the event, losing to Camden Valley Wildfire and eventual champions Sydney Comets, before winning their final pool game against Newcastle Hunters.
