Murray’s fixture against Werribee City FC at Werribee’s Galvin Park on Saturday, June 16 is likely to come under scrutiny.
A photo of Twin City Wanderers import Tyler Curran, a registered player with the Albury Wodonga Football Association, was taken during the under-20s clash between the two sides and appeared on Werribee City FC’s Facebook page on Sunday, June 17.
However, Curran’s name did not appear on the team sheet from that particular contest.
Curran then lined up for Twin City Wanderers on June 17 against Albury Hotspurs at Kelly Park, helping the side to a 3-1 victory to move to sixth on the league table.
FFV prohibits dual registration under the National Registration Regulations in accordance with FIFA regulations, meaning a player can only be registered with one club at a time.
Furthermore, the AWFA doesn’t permit a player to have dual registration with another club or team in an association outside of AWFA without an approved application.
“A football operations investigation is taking place and Murray United is a relevant party, but FFV will not be providing any details about the investigation or providing an update until the investigation is complete,” an FFV statement said.
It remains unclear when the investigation will be completed.
