The Albury RSPCA volunteer branch plans to trial opening its Hume Street information centre on Fridays as well as the usual Thursdays and Saturdays.
Branch spokeswoman Kate Fiedler said the change became possible because new volunteers joined after the group appealed for public help in late June.
Newcomers have been learning about committee roles ahead of assuming positions at the next annual general meeting and the branch plans to take part in the 2018 Wodonga Children’s Fair.
Miss Fiedler said Albury RSPCA still needed a few more helpers to make bigger projects possible but running the branch itself had become easier.
“Because we have got a few fresh faces and some young blood as well, we feel there’s a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of new ideas, a bit more structure now,” she said.
“Which is obviously what we need to move forward and to be more effective in the community.”
