Workshops for members to discuss the rebadging are on next Tuesday and Thursday.
Chamber general manager Kathie Heyman said a survey last year found 68 per cent of members were receptive to a fresh title, so it was decided to further explore the matter.
“The reason for the question is that we’re getting new members coming in and they keep asking ‘why Albury Northside?’,” she said.
“It’s a way with our 420 members and a high percentage of them being new, of them being able to set their name into the future.”
The body was formed in 2006 through the merger of the Albury and Lavington-Northside chambers.
Ms Heyman said the workshops would be followed by an online survey.
The board is then expected to discuss the issue in September with a new name likely to be on the agenda for ratifying at the chamber’s annual meeting in October.
