Two men forced entry into a unit on Thurgoona street about 1am on Saturday.
One was armed with a knife and the other had the shifter.
A man was struck in the head with the metal tool, causing a cut.
A woman was pushed to the ground and poked in the chest with the knife, causing injuries.
The man had to be taken to hospital for treatment for his head wound.
The incident was later reported to police.
The two offenders were involved in a second home invasion about 3.30am.
A 41-year-old man was asleep in his unit in the same complex when the pair forced entry.
They demanded his car keys, but the resident declined.
He instead offered to drive them to Glenroy.
After dropping the offenders off, the man went to the Albury Police Station to report the incident.
The duo were arrested about 6.15am.
They were taken into custody at the same complex where the offences occurred.
It was unclear if the offenders and victims knew each other.
Both men are aged 21 and are facing a string of charges, including aggravated break and enter with intent, special aggravated enter dwelling and commit serious indictable offence, and aggravated armed robbery.
They are also charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and using an offensive weapon in company with intent.
Both were refused bail.
They had been due to appear before Albury Local Court on Sunday, but it is unclear what the outcome was.
The public housing complex has been the scene of several serious incidents, including a fire lit by a homeless man in January 2016 that destroyed one unit.
