Bring on an election
The Liberals have always bragged about the so called “broad church” in their party and how wonderful it is. However this is not so in practice and the differences are stark between the two sides as can been seen recently.

The “Conservatives” should form their own party and then see how far they would get.
All of these politicians are into power, winning at any cost and raving on about how they are the only ones who should govern and how the other side is so wrong, unpalatable, disgusting and etc etc and so forth.
We the people are over it and are close to hating all of them.
So bring on an election and please vote all of these people out and please vote Tony Abbott out because he is arguably behind all the mess that politics has been in for the last 10 years.
Linda McMaster, Albury
We’ve had enough
Well the pollies are at again fighting amongst themselves over who wants to be the leader but with leadership of both parties being of poor quality what else do you expect.
The leaders these days have no vision for the future. The majority of Australians have had enough of the Liberal and Labor in-fighting over the past nine years and just want stability with our leaders.
What this country needs is Leadership with vision and not be controlled by the media.
Australia has this enormous debt but absolutely nothing to show for it. We have come from a position before the Global Financial Crisis when we had no Federal Government debt.
Just look at the major issues facing Australia is the price of energy which affecting all households and encouraging our major companies to invest overseas. Look at Visy, Bluescope, BHP, Woodside and the list is growing. That means or children and grandchildren will have to move overseas to get employment to match their education.
And our tax revenue will be reduced so what will our lazy pollies do then?
Our immigration needs to be controlled as the majority are moving into Sydney and Melbourne which is overloading the infrastructure. Just ask the commuters who drive to work or catch public transport from the outer suburbs what they think.
Urgently make a policy to develop Northern Australia using immigration and please could the press get behind such a move.
John Walker, Wangaratta
Bishop the right play
The logical solution to the Turnbull leadership crisis would have been Julie Bishop as Prime Minister.
It makes sense. She is very qualified and popular with voters. A no-nonsense minister to win back voter support against the arrogance of a left-wing Shorten, union, Greens coalition that wants to close down coal power stations so we can't afford electricity and let thousands of illegal boats back into Australia.
Not forgetting a republic that is not in the interest of our way of life and our constitution.
Peter Jongeneel, Culcairn
