In a goal-for-goal contest, the Spiders held firm late to set up an exciting elimination final against Lockhart this weekend.
Only three and one goal have separated the teams in their two meetings this season.
Howlong had fine players in Brooke Cannon and Jaimi Dove against Jindera while Sharna Holland was typically strong in defence for the Bulldogs.
Cannon won the Spiders best and fairest at the weekend with Emily Ley runner-up.
In B grade, Alannah Cuscal won from Rikki Hoskin.
Saturday’s loss saw Jindera squander the double chance with the Bulldogs to meet an injury-hit Murray Magpies at Walbundrie on Saturday.
The Giants, Billabong Crows, Osborne, Holbrook and Culcairn also won at the weekend.
