Damon Mirkovic made a brief appearance in the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Monday before magistrate Ian Watkins.
He has been charged with aggravated home invasion with an offensive weapon, intentionally causing injury and recklessly causing injury.
He had been arrested in Albury last week following the alleged home invasion at a London Road property in the early hours of August 12.
A 57-year-old man was injured during the incident.
Mirkovic, who is on bail for the offence, will return to court for a committal mention on December 13.
Chew is facing the same charges and will return on the same date.
