The skills of award-winning quilter Shelley Kelly and her students at Skellywag Sewing School will be on display for the fifth time at Barnawartha.
Lesley Currell of Wodonga has been attending sessions weekly for five years.
“You’re learning other skills – she also teaches sewing for clothing and things like that – and meeting new people,” she said.
“There are 25 to 30 people who attend the sit and sews, coming from Wangaratta, Corowa and Rutherglen, and even Holbrook.”
Proceeds from the exhibition go to Alzheimer’s Australia, and last year $2000 was raised through gold coin donations.
“This year the Barnawartha Primary School will be doing the catering, so they will get the proceeds of that,” Ms Currell said.
“There will be a Halloween quilt and plenty of other things children will enjoy.”
The exhibition runs from 9.30am to 4pm from Friday to Sunday at the Barnawartha Soldiers Memorial Hall.
