AN Emily Browne masterclass paved the way for Rutherglen to defeat Thurgoona 45-39 in the first semi-final at Sandy Creek.
The former Toni Wilson Medallist was in everything at centre for the Cats as they raced clear early and held the advantage.
Rutherglen has hit form at the right stage of the season after proving too strong for Barnawartha in the elimination final.
In a cracking second semi-final, Tallangatta edged out Kiewa-Sandy Creek 45-44 on Saturday.
Only one goal separated the teams at each change with the Hoppers holding their nerve in the dying minutes.
“It certainly was an intense, close game of netball for the entire four quarters,” Hawk coach Kathy Evans said.
“There was never more than four goals in it.”
Tallangatta has advanced to the grand final with the Hawks and Rutherglen to clash on Saturday.
