SHARP SHOOTERS
The league’s two leading goal-kickers are still in action with just two games remaining in the season.
Kiewa-Sandy Creek co-captain Guy Telford still leads the way, adding another two to his tally last weekend against Barnawartha, which now stands at 87.
Having already smashed his previous best in a season, Thurgoona co-coach Jayden Kotzur booted a further six in his side’s big win against Tallangatta to move to 70 for the campaign.
With potentially two games left for him, Kotzur could end up with 80-plus.
LIONS’ PRIDE
Wahgunyah star Matt Grantham won his third straight club best and fairest.
Grantham claimed the club’s top honour ahead of leading goal-kicker Corey Smith and Andrew Ollington on August 18.
Both Beechworth and Mitta United will know their club best and fairest winners by the end of the week.
The Bushrangers will host their presentation night at Beechworth on Friday, while Mitta has its at Albury’s Commercial Club on Saturday.
ALL CLEAR
Two reports were made from the reserves second semi-final between Thurgoona and Tallangatta on Saturday, but the charges were later withdrawn so no tribunal was required.
The Bulldogs edged out the Hoppers by a point to progress to the grand final.
