Cafe Musette owner Jake Wolki said the inaugural event on Saturday was a showcase of plants, veggies and environmentally-friendly products.
He said the green theme reflected the cafe’s priorities.
“We’ve recently become very green-conscious in the business,” he said.
“We’ve been recycling everything, composting all of our green waste and reusing coffee grinds. We put up a greenhouse out the back for veggie seedlings and establishing a food forest.”
Spring Festival Day vendors include Almar Organics, Reusable, Pure Paws Bakery, Upcycled Wood Designs, NutriSoil, HalveWaste, Tarzan's Plants, The Brothers Cup and Cafe Musette's Greenhouse Seedlings. The cafe has raised 1000 seedlings, which will be for sale at $2 each.
There will be workshops and demonstrations.
The free event runs at 2/480 Young Street from 10am to 2pm.
