Corryong was in just its second A-grade grand final in the club’s history, but opened up an early buffer.
The Blues eventually clawed their way back into the contest and it was goal for goal for most the afternoon, with Cudgewa forcing several turnovers late in the game to come out on top.
Cudgewa coach Kirby Nankervis knew her side had more in the tank.
“I’m very proud of the girls, B-grade came away with a win as well and I coach them too, so I’m pretty happy,” she said.
“Anna (Beirs) got best on court, she got a lot of rebounds which really helped us turn it around.”
Corryong coach Maree Anstee was incredibly proud of her team given the majority are only 15 or 16.
The other results were: B-grade; Cudgewa 42 def Corryong 41, C-grade; Bullioh 24 def Cudgewa 21, D-grade; Federal 23 def Bullioh 12, under 15s; Bullioh 29 def Federal 19.
