Wodonga Raiders’ plans to consider emerging utility Nick Murray for Sunday’s preliminary final against Wangaratta have ended after he broke his ankle on Sunday.

Murray suffered the injury to his right ankle in the Murray Bushrangers’ season-ending loss to Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup.
“I went up in a marking contest and landed awkwardly,” he said while being driven back home last night from Melbourne.
“It’s also torn ligaments and the ligaments have torn bone off with it.”
Murray has played just the one senior O and M game, showing patches of his class against Lavington on May 5.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Raiders’ coach Daryn Cresswell had spoken of the possibilities of selecting the club’s classy under 18 Bushies’ contingent.

“Depending on what happens with the Bushies with Nick Murray, Jake Bradshaw, Floyd Bollinghaus and Dylan Clarke, Dylan will definitely come straight into our side,” he said following the club’s gut-wrenching two-point loss to Albury in the grand final qualifier.
“(Mark) Doolan and (Daniel) Bond will definitely be right.”
Utility Bond was named against Albury after battling two separate ankle injuries this year.
He hadn’t played since July 21, but returned in reserve grade on Sunday in the club’s 17-point first-semi win over Wangaratta.
Bond was named the team’s third best player, while Doolan was second best in his first game for a month.
Albury Sportsground will host the blockbuster clash.
