Howlong star Steve Jolliffe is the second pick among the coaches.

Cox played 15 of the 18 home and away matches and featured in Henty’s best players on 13 occasions in a sensational debut season for the club.

Coach Joel Price said he would be shocked if Cox didn’t poll well.

“Daniel’s had a really consistent year,” Price said.

“He has a big tank, his second and third efforts are fantastic.

“He’s strong over the ball and works both ways.

“I’d say he’s been by far our most consistent player.

“We do stats every week and he’s had over 40 possessions three or four times this year.”

Cox’s biggest threat could be his teammates with Damian Cupido and Jarrah Makysmow enjoying strong seasons.

Cupido kicked 108 goals in the home and away series while Makysmow was dominant through the midfield and up forward where he kicked 47 majors.

Jolliffe, who was recruited from Collingullie-Glenfield Park, will also take beating after racking up prolific numbers in the midfield.

He missed rounds 16 and 17 with a compound fracture of his middle finger.

“’Joffa’s’ (Jolliffe) been great for us all season,” Howlong coach Beau Packer said.

“He came in and played well from the start.”

Brock-Burrum duo Matt Seiter and Nico Sedgwick are set to poll well during the count at Henty on Wednesday night but are ineligible due to suspensions.

Culcairn’s Jye Shields, Holbrook’s Sam Harris and Curtis Steele and Rand-Walbundrie-Walla’s Chris Duck are outside chances after consistent seasons.

Jindera spearhead Trent Castles kicked six or more goals on 10 occasions which should see him finish in the top 10.

CDHBU’s Kade Rowe, Osborne’s Matt Rava and Connor Galvin, Lockhart ruckman Zac Sheather, Billabong Crows youngster George Sandral and Murray Magpie Daniel Maher shape as darkhorses.

In A-grade netball, Billabong Crows defender Holly Dowling, Jindera’s Sharna Holland, Howlong’s Brooke Cannon and Rand-Walbundrie-Walla’s Jess Kotzur look set to feature prominently.

Culcairn’s Georgie Pitson won the Lions best and fairest award and also had a strong season.
