The apprentices won two silver and three bronze medals at the regional finals at Wodonga TAFE recently.
The Wodonga TAFE students include Chelsea McGuire (3rd year apprentice, Brick Lane Albury); Rory Stones (2nd year apprentice, Taste Rutherglen and Ripe and Buller); Stephen Klafuric (2nd year apprentice, New Empire Hotel Beechworth); Ben Warhurst (1st year apprentice, Bean Station); and Lorraine Spargo (1st year apprentice, Star Hotel Yackandandah).
Wodonga TAFE cookery teacher Sarah Whitling said the apprentices benefited from the chance to test and showcase their skills.
“This is the perfect place for students to demonstrate their own skills and knowledge, and test their ability to perform in a high-pressure environment,” she said.
State winners will compete in the national final.
