Regional Roads Victoria North East regional director Nicki Kyriakou said residents could also give suggestions on a diversion for trucks, and what they’d like to see happen in Main Street, at the sessions.
“As a part of this process, we're completing a number of studies and assessments to ensure this project delivers the best possible result for the community,” she said.
“We now have data about heavy vehicle movements through the town, collected in an Origin and Destination Study to help us understand where the traffic is going and at what times of day.
“We will also have a survey available for community members to provide feedback about the potential for an alternative route which will be developed using the existing road network, rather than through the creation of a bypass.”
The sessions will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday, at the Rutherglen Senior Citizens Hall.
VicRoads recently confirmed construction on the $4 million project would be pushed back to 2019 to allow for more community consultation.
