Heagney was voted best on court on eight occasions on her way to polling 33 votes.
Wangaratta Rovers’ Morgan Byrne came runner-up on 25, with Yarrawonga’s Lilly Sharp (24) rounding out the top three.
Heagney’s victory came after Vashti Muller took out last year’s award playing for North Albury.
The tall youngster crossed to rival club Wodonga Raiders this season and finished equal fourth in the A grade count.
In a thrilling count, experienced duo Bridget Flint-Chapman and Alicia Van Emmerik shared the B grade best and fairest.
The Myrtleford and Albury players polled three votes in the final round to finish one clear of Albury’s Sarah Anstee, North Albury’s Georgie Attree and Corowa-Rutherglen’s Kiara McLean.
Corowa-Rutherglen’s Rebecca Kuschert motored home to take out C grade.
After having just six votes after 10 rounds, Kuschert went on a spree by polling in rounds 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 15 and 17 to secure victory.
It was just enough to hold off North Albury’s Maddie Pearson by three.
Wangaratta’s Casey Brown (15) and Lavington’s Emma Merkel (14) were next.
