Inner Wheel Club of Wodonga unveiled its Leave a Lasting Legacy project at Sumsion Gardens on Monday.
The club gained a $1000 grant from Border Trust to make the project possible.
Inner Wheel Club of Wodonga former president Bev Hosie, who initiated the project when she was president in 2017-2018, said it was a welcome addition to the park.
“Wodonga Council made the seat and installed it as well as putting in a path,” she said.
“We’ll have our annual picnic here in January.”
Inner Wheel Club of Wodonga president Elizabeth Grant said Inner Wheel was one of the largest international women's organisations.
The Wodonga club has about 40 members.
“It’s a friendship club with an emphasis on doing work in the community,” she said.
The Wodonga club raises money for Belvoir Special School, Wodonga Brass Band with its memorial scholarship, ovarian cancer research and Megs Children Nepal, whose founder, Trish Ryan is an Inner Wheel member.
It funds cord blood research and Australia-wide Inner Wheel has raised more than $2 million for it.
Cord blood is being used to treat leukaemia in children and many other illnesses.
Inner Wheel Club of Wodonga meets on the third Monday of the month from 6pm at the Wodonga RSL Club.
