There’s a full day’s action assured when the Hume Football Netball League’s season comes to a close today. Get along early and enjoy one of the great country football and netball competitions. The footy kicks off at 8.45am with Holbrook and the Giants and the first netballers hit the court at 9.45am with the under-14 decider between Murray Magpies and Osborne.

Splash of colour
September 22-23, Gallery 294 Corowa, 10am-4pm free
If you are looking for something bright and colourful to lift your spirits then it could be worth a visit to the Abstracts Only Spring Madness Exhibition at Corowa’s Gallery 294. You will find new works full of colour and movement created by the artists from Corowa and the surrounding region. Entry is free and works are available to buy if you find something you think will brighten your house.
Folk music
September 22, 23, Myrtleford and Beechworth, $20
Beechworth Singers bring a World of Folk Songs to Myrtleford’s Uniting Church at 4pm today and the Beechworth Town Hall at 2.30pm tomorrow. They will cover folk songs from around the world, harmonised and arranged by composers and musicians including Kodaly, Bairstow, Whittaker, Seiber, Kosma and Holst.
Charity ride
September 22, Mystic MTB Park Bright
The Alfred Six Hour charity mountain bike race is on today. It challenges individuals, pairs and teams to a three or six-hour mountain bike endurance race on a 6.5 kilometre course just minutes from the centre of Bright. All profits from the event will be donated to the Alfred Hospital to support critical care services in the Emergency and Trauma Centre. To date over $45,000 has been raised since the event began.
Grand finale
September 23, Norm Minns Oval, 7.30am, from $10
All roads will lead to the Norm Minns Oval tomorrow when Wangaratta hosts the Ovens and Murray Grand Finals. Albury Tigers and Wang Magpies meet in both senior deciders. Action starts at 9am with Yarrawonga and Rovers in under-18 football action and Raiders and North Albury the first of the netball deciders.
