Crime statistics released on Thursday show a steady increase in drug related crime in the cities, which includes manufacturing, possession and dealing.
There were 269 such offences detected in the 12 months to June, up from 244 for the previous period.
206 such offences were recorded in the year to June 2016.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes noted that overall crime had fallen in both areas.
