In a tough initiation to the senior role, Jones finished this year with eight wins, four draws and 16 losses, but revealed he would be staying on the at the club’s presentation night on Saturday.
“I feel like I have unfinished business with the guys and I love the club and love the group,” Jones said.
“It was a bit of a formality in the end, I’d been considering it towards the back end of the season, but I really want to go again and help the club grow and achieve.”
Jones added he learnt a lot in his first season in charge.
“Going into the first few rounds you think you’re capable and know what to expect, but there’s nothing like the real thing,” he said.
“I feel like the coach I am now with a season under my belt, I’m only going to improve and that experience will serve me well going into the second year.
“If I didn’t think I was the right guy for the job, I wouldn’t have put my hand up again.”
