The 185cm goal shooter was a dominant force in the circle all day, finishing with 42 goals in the Magpies’ 46-35 triumph.
Incredibly, Umanski considered stepping away from netball this season.
Without some serious convincing from Magpies’ head netball coach Lou Byrne, she wouldn’t have been able to live out her career highlight and highest individual honour.
“I’m stoked, I’m surprised I shot so well,” Umanski said.
“I was very nervous, but I guess nerves work well sometimes.
“To be honest, I wasn’t going to play this year and it took Lou a lot to convince me and I’m so glad I did.
“We all connect really well on and off the court, there’s a really good atmosphere at the club which has contributed a lot to our success.
“About halfway through the season Lou said we’d have a chance to do this if we wanted to and we went for it.”
Umanski admitted everything clicked for the team on the day, particularity their passing game.
“We were aware of the wind and had to make sure those passes were on,” she added.
The 20-year-old won’t need any encouragement to play on next year.
